INVERDE is a pioneering Brazilian NGO founded in January 2009 to educate, raise awareness and to propose ecological solutions to reconcile nature and people in the cities. We are an interdisciplinary team working for the promotion of urban nature and the ecosystems services they provide to where people are. We have been working to incorporate green infrastructure planning and design in different scales. Since the beginning, we have promoted lectures and round-table discussions (Figure 1) to regularly present and discuss socio-ecological issues to reach a broad public. International and national speakers have already emphasized urban sustainability and the urgent need to build resilient cities to face climate change challenges. We organize green infrastructure and urban ecology short courses, expanding the new paradigm with innovative ecological solutions designed in the workshops (Figure 2).
