By developing new models combining income generation, ecological health, coastal defence, improved food security and economic self-reliance, it will reduce dependence on external supplies and services. Two urban local councils will develop, adopt and initiate the implementation of Climate and COVID Resilience Plans (CCRPs). This promotes inclusive and sustainable community-based development aligned with national policies and programs. Self-reliance will be enhanced through improved sustainable livelihood opportunities, which contribute towards improved food security and environmental protection. Driving this project through traditional governance systems will demonstrate how enhanced participation and collaboration at all levels of government and society accelerate sustainable development.
