What we are doing
ICLEI works to promote the institutional and political mobilization of the Forum of Secretaries of the Environment of Brazilian Capitals (CB27). Established in 2012 in preparation for Rio+20, the CB27 Forum is an initiative of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation. Its aim is to foster collaboration among the 26 Brazilian capitals and the Federal District government, thereby strengthening and executing coordinated actions, facilitating the exchange of experiences in urban sustainability, and advancing cutting-edge environmental agendas.
What we are achieving
In 2024, the Forum held 4 meetings, focusing on discussing opportunities of climate financing for cities: Virtual Meeting: it was held on March 5th; Amazonian capitals meeting: it was held on June 15th; National Meeting: it took place on September 20th; National Meeting in João Pessoa in December, from 4th to 6th In 2025, up until April, the Forum held 2 meetings, focussing on discussing about actions in preparation for COP 30, in Belém, Brasil: Virtual Meeting: held on March 25th, focused on the forum goals and priorities for 2025, and held the elections for national and regional coordinators; National Meeting: held on April 6th to prepare the secretaries for the National Environmental Conference and COP 30.
