CitiesWithNature provides a platform for cities to engage with each other, access tools and knowledgde, and ultimately tackle the triple planetary crisis of biodiversity loss, climate change and pollution head on.
Action Platform
The Action platform is a place for cities to showcase their progress to achieve their nature goals by sharing their commitments and reporting their actions. The Platform feeds into the UN Convention on Biological Diversity and contributes to their country’s National targets.
CitiesWithNature Guides
CitiesWithNature has developed a range of Guides that provide helpful, science-based information on numerous topics relevant to cities. The Guides provide practical and simple step-by-step guidance to support cities to take action and empower them with the required knowledge to make commitments on the Action Platform.
City Biodiversity Index
The City Biodiversity Index (CBI) – also known as the Singapore Index on Cities’ Biodiversity (SI) – is a self-assessment tool for cities to evaluate and monitor the progress of their biodiversity conservation efforts against their own individual baselines. Based on the original handbook, the tool has been digitized by CitiesWithNature, to promote and enable cities to undertake their monitoring and reporting on biodiversity and nature.
CitiesWithNature Communities of practice
An online space for cities to learn, inspire, and influence each other by sharing resources, expertise and lessons learned.
Local governments, and cities in particular, play an important role in curbing global biodiversity loss by using innovative approaches such as promoting nature in urban areas. To ensure cities take the most appropriate action and to mobilize their bold commitments, cities can learn from one another by sharing best practices and resources, and inspire one another to keep up their momentum for nature

The Platform showcases a profile for each city, which collates all information cities have uploaded to CitiesWithNature. These profiles provide a snapshot of what a city is doing to protect and restore nature, as well as all the commitments they’ve made on the platform.

The active news feed pulls and activity by cities on the platform through in real time. Keep up to date with profile updates, city achievements and awards, commitments made and more. You can also filter according to region or type of update to find information you’d be interested in.
