RegionsWithNature is a partnership initiative that supports regional and subnational government officials and other stakeholders to enhance ecosystem restoration, biodiversity conservation and nature-based solutions in their regions.
Action Platform
The Action platform is a place for cities to showcase their progress to achieve their nature goals by sharing their commitments and reporting their actions. The Platform feeds into the UN Convention on Biological Diversity and contributes to their country’s National targets.
RegionsWithNature Guides
Through the collaboration of its partners and experts, RegionsWithNature has developed a range of Guides that provide helpful, science-based information on numerous topics relevant to regions. Guides are essentially small, digestible amounts of technical information on different themes aimed at making the information interactive and user-friendly. Based on best practices, the Guides provide practical and simple step-by-step guidance to support regions to take action. In particular, the Guides aim to empower regions with the required knowledge about different areas of expertise to be able to make commitments on the Convention on Biological Diversity-recognized RegionsWithNature Action Platform.

The Platform showcases a profile for each region, which collates all information regions have uploaded to RegionsWithNature. These profiles provide a snapshot of what a region is doing to protect and restore nature, as well as all the commitments they’ve made on the platform.
News feed
The active news feed pulls and activity by regions on the platform through in real time. Keep up to date with profile updates, region achievements and awards, commitments made and more. You can also filter according to location or type of update to find information you’d be interested in.
Case study database
The case study database is a unique and growing collection of real-world examples showcasing how regional governments are driving impactful solutions to today’s most pressing environmental, social, and economic challenges.
By documenting these success stories, the database serves as a powerful resource for subnational governments worldwide, enabling them to learn from proven strategies and adapt them to their own regional contexts. Whether addressing climate change, biodiversity conservation, disaster resilience, or sustainable development, these case studies highlight actionable solutions that can be replicated and scaled.
